Missing, Wanted PA Man Arrested After Assaulting Ranger: PA State Police

David Edward Browne, 27, of Shippensburg, is in Pennsylvania State Police custody as of 10:46 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25. According to Trooper Frazer he was taken in without further incident. Follow Daily Voice and check here for additional updates.

A Shippensburg missing man is now wanted for an incident on the Appalachian Trail, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. 

David Edward Browne is accused of setting fire and assaulting a ranger on Thursday, Aug. 24.

A missing man may pose a danger to himself or others, police announced on Wednesday, Aug. 23. 

David Edward Browne, 27, of Shippensburg went missing from his home in the 300 block of East King Street, Shippensburg, on Sunday, Aug. 20, according to the area police. 

The police specifically noted that he is "at risk of mental disability subjecting himself or others to danger."

He has no transportation of his own. has no known mode of transportation. 

Browne is described as a white man who is 6'5"tall and weighs 175 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.
